Rotary kiln belongs to the category of building materials equipment, which refers to rotary calcining kiln. It is widely used in many production industries such as building materials, metallurgy, chemical industry, environmental protection, etc. Its function in production is to use rotary drum equipment to mechanically, physically or chemically process solid materials.

Due to its working characteristics, the rotary kiln will come into contact with gasified corrosive substances such as chlorine and sulfur contained in the raw materials when processing solid materials, and these substances will corrode the inner wall of the rotary kiln. Taking thermal insulation measures, a large amount of heat will escape, which will not only affect the working efficiency of the rotary kiln, but also cause problems in the physical condition of the staff due to the overheated workshop.

Rotary kilns are widely used in industrial production. The temperature in the kiln can reach about 1450 °C. The thermal calibration results show that the heat dissipation on the surface of the kiln shell accounts for about 8% of the heat consumption of clinker firing. Especially in the later period of the service life of kiln bricks, the local temperature of the kiln cylinder surface will be higher, and the average temperature of the surface of the kiln cylinder is about 370℃, and the heat consumption of the system will increase. Often because of the "red kiln", it is forced to stop the kiln and replace the bricks, which seriously affects the stable operation of the kiln system. Sometimes it will also cause the deformation of the kiln cylinder, increase the ovality, and form extrusion and tensile stress on the kiln bricks, forming a vicious circle. High temperature resistant thermal insulation coatings are used to ensure heat dissipation, avoid red kilns and reduce energy consumption.
